Congratulations to ICES senior scientist Dr. Peter Austin, who has been honoured as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA). ASA Fellows are leaders in statistical science who have made notable contributions in their field. Dr. Austin was honoured for his research in statistical methods for the analysis of observational data, particularly in the use of propensity score methods, as well as collaboration in clinical epidemiology and health services research.
“His accomplishments have contributed greatly to the advancement of statistical science and have rightfully earned him the respect and admiration of his ASA peers,” says Jessica Utts, ASA President.
Dr. Austin will be formally awarded at a ceremony at the 2016 Joint Statistical Meetings in Chicago on August 2.
