Congratulations to ICES scientist emeritus Dr. David Naylor, who was inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF) in a ceremony at McMaster University on April 14, 2016. Every year, CMHF honours up to six Canadian medical heroes for their contribution to improving health, and for motivating future leaders in healthcare. Dr. Naylor, recognized for visionary contributions to health research, education, administration and policy, founded the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences and led the Institute as the chief executive officer from 1992 until 1998.
“These Canadian heroes have not only furthered health, but they serve as an inspiration to all Canadians and to our future health leaders,” said Dr. Jean Gray, chair of The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.
CMHF Laureates are leaders in the health sciences who have made extraordinary contributions in their field, and whose work has advanced medicine, impacting the improvement of human health in Canada and around the world. The Laureates are also considered pioneers in medicine, inspiring others to pursue careers in health sciences.
