Congratulations to ICES senior scientist and Primary Care and Population Health Research program lead Dr. Rick Glazier on his appointment as one of 15 inaugural college chairs for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) College of Reviewers.
Dr. Glazier was selected out of more than 100 candidates by the CIHR chief scientific officer based on the recommendations of an external nominating committee. All appointed college chairs are internationally recognized health leaders who have shown commitment to excellence in peer review.
Working together with CIHR’s chief scientific officer, the College of Reviewers will oversee national strategies to attract and retain exceptional peer reviewers. They will also provide peer reviewers with relevant learning and mentoring programs, as well as other necessary supports for the delivery of fair and quality reviews.
Dr. Glazier’s appointment will begin on July 1, 2016.
