Research Question/Objectives: The objective is to understand both the drug and resource utilization patterns of gout patients compared to non-gout patients in a Canadian population. The study will focus on understanding the burden of illness and consequences of gout on patients, providers and payers. Specifically, the research questions of interest are:
- Characterize a publicly insured Ontario gout patient population in terms of demographics and clinical characteristics including co-morbidities
- Measure and compare the public resource utilization of a publicly insured gout population against a comparable population without gout in Ontario
- Measure and compare the cost of public health care resources of a publicly insured gout population against a comparable population without gout.

Research Question/Objectives: To understand both the drug and healthcare resource utilization patterns of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who are adherent to biologic therapy compared to RA patients who are non–adherent to biologic therapy in an Ontario population. Specifically, the research objectives of interest are to study the impact of adherence on health care resource utilization and the factors that influence adherence.
