Rachel Savage
Rachel Savage is a scientist, Women’s Age Lab and Women’s College Research Institute, Women’s College Hospital, and an adjunct scientist at ICES. Her research aims to improve the health of older adults, immigrants, and women. Her research investigates loneliness and social isolation in older adults at the population-level to understand how we can improve the health and well-being of our aging population and alleviate demands on our health care system. She is the principal investigator of a national study, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, that links national health survey data with health administrative data to understand whether and how loneliness and social isolation impact how older adults use health care services. Dr. Savage has over ten years of local and provincial public health experience, and a proven track record in conducting impactful, applied, and collaborative public health research.
