Jacob Etches

Staff Scientist ICES Central Chronic Disease & Pharmacotherapy Research Program

Biography

Jacob Etches is a staff scientist with the Data and Analytic Services (DAS) division of ICES. Etches earned a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and was a Junior Fellow at Massey College and a Lupina Doctoral Fellow in the Comparative Program on Health and Society at the Munk Centre for International Studies.

Etches' research has involved healthcare utilization, quality of care, pharmacoepidemiology, labour market experiences and health, health and disability across the life course, and socioeconomic inequalities in health. He has also taught statistical process control methods for quality improvement to healthcare professionals in collaboration with Health Quality Ontario and the University of Toronto as part of the IDEAS Advanced Learning Program. He currently supports private sector clients who wish to conduct research using ICES data.
