Dr. Stukel has been a Senior Scientist at ICES since 2002. She was Vice-President, Research, ICES from 2002 to 2007. She is also Adjunct Professor in the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, HanoverNH, and Adjunct Professor of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and Associate Member, School of Graduate Studies, at the University of Toronto. In August 2007, she was appointed Fellow of the American Statistical Association.
She received a PhD in Statistics from the University of Torontoand completed post-doctoral studies in Health Policy, Planning and Financing at the London School of Economics during a sabbatical at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also has a BSc (Hon) from the University of Ottawa and Diplome d'Etudes Approfondies (DEA) des Universités de Paris VI et XI et de l’Université de Grenoble, France.
Her research interests have focused on statistical methods development and cancer epidemiology in the past, and more recently on health services research, particularly, cardiovascular, health human resources, and sustainability and longitudinal efficiency of healthcare systems.
