In this project, the Electronic Medical Records Administrative Data Linked Database (EMRALD) will be used to investigate the impact of socioeconomic status on the quality of primary healthcare for type II diabetics. Low socioeconomic status can often negatively impact an individual's primary care. Diabetic patients may be particularly affected, since they require frequent physician visits for their disease management.
This project intends to investigate whether these treatment discrepancies have a measurable correlation with a health indicator, namely the monitoring and control of blood sugar values.
