ICES-NET (New Emerging Team) program: pharmacologic management of chronic disease in older adults

The ICES-NET (New Emerging Team) program is a collaborative network, supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Chronic Disease New Emerging Team program. The ICES-NET program receives joint sponsorship from the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the CIHR Institutes of Nutrition, Metabolism & Diabetes and Circulatory & Respiratory Health.

This multi-disciplinary, international, health-services research alliance fosters a common interest in studying the real-world impact of drug therapies in older adults with chronic disease (emphasizing cardiovascular, diabetes, and kidney disease), using large provincial databases, with the goal of improving the overall health of this group. The team focus, in the area of drug benefit and risk, fosters multidisciplinary collaboration and emphasizes research training for young investigators.
