ICES affiliate scientist Dr. Christopher Simpson appointed Canadian Medical Association’s representative to the World Medical Association

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Christopher Simpson, who has been selected by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) to represent Canada to the World Medical Association, an international organization representing physicians around the world. Dr. Simpson will assume a four-year term as the CMA representative in 2017. In the role of CMA representative, Dr. Simpson will advocate for Canadian physicians and share their expertise with the global medical community.

Dr. Simpson is a professor of medicine, vice-dean (clinical), school of medicine, and chief of cardiology at Queen's University. He also holds positions as medical director of the cardiac program at Kingston General Hospital/Hotel Dieu Hospital, and medical director with the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Association.

His research focus includes access to healthcare, health policy/reform and cardiovascular disorders.
