Biography

Dr. Kednapa Thavorn is a scientist and a health economist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, The Ottawa Hospital. She is also cross-appointed as an assistant professor with the School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, University of Ottawa. She holds a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Chiang Mai University and a master's degree in pharmacy from Naresuan University, Thailand. She earned a doctoral degree in health services research from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME), University of Toronto. She completed post-doctoral fellowships in applied pharmaco-economics from Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michael’s Hospital and health services research from the IHPME. Her research focuses on topics surrounding health economics, resource allocation in healthcare, pharmaco-epidemiology, health equity, pharmaceutical care for people with complex needs, and population health.
