Muhammad Mamdani

Biography

Muhammad Mamdani is director of the Li Ka Shing Centre for Healthcare Analytics Research and Training at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He is actively involved in clinical research as the co-lead of the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network, a network of researchers linked directly with policymakers at the Ontario Ministry of Health to maximize research uptake in informing drug policy decisions.

Dr. Mamdani is a professor of medicine and pharmacy in the respective faculties at the University of Toronto and a member of the Human Drug Advisory Panel of the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board of Canada.

Dr. Mamdani holds a PharmD from the University of Michigan, a fellowship in pharmacoeconomics and an MA in economics from Wayne State University, and an MPH in quantitative methods from Harvard University. His research interests are in pharmacoepidemiology, health technology assessment and drug policy. He has published over 250 studies in peer-reviewed medical journals and in 2010 was named among Canada's Top 40 Under 40.
