Biography

Doug Manuel is a public health specialist and a senior scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He is a professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Ottawa and a clinician scientist at the Bruyère Research Institute. For the past 25 years, Dr. Manuel has been a primary care clinician in rural and remote Canadian communities. His current practice is with refugees at the Ottawa Newcomer Clinic. He joined ICES in 1999 and is currently a senior core scientist.
