Ziv Harel

Biography

Dr. Ziv Harel completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario, and an internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at the University of Toronoto. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in 2009. Following his fellowship training, he completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Healthcare Research through the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation, at the University of Toronto. Thereafter, he completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Women’s College Research Institute in the pharmacologic management of chronic disease in older adults, and a Veteran’s Health Administration Quality Scholars (VAQS) Fellowship. Dr. Harel is an associate professor of medicine at the University of Toronto, and his clinical practice focuses on general nephrology. His primary research interests are rehospitalizations in patients on chronic hemodialysis, quality improvement in chronic kidney disease, and pharmacoepidemiology.
